For Me or For My Culture?

I think it’s a beautiful thing that our American culture seeks equal rights for each individual, demands freedom and independence for anything we want to do, and prizes finding ourselves.


But I wonder if we’ve swung so far on the pendulum that we have begun to demand that our culture cater to our needs, more than trying to become what our community needs us to be for it.
