I think that the biggest lie we modern folks have been fed is that being a servant is abominable. And I think we’ve eagerly swallowed it. We say, ‘If I have to serve someone then that is social injustice and I’m being oppressed.’
I think the reason we believe this is so bad is because we have seen so many examples of selfish rulers and self-serving masters.
But if there were a good king that you could trust to guide you, would you follow? If you hear him telling you, “it is finally time to throw away that bottle of rum”, or “go now and forgive your little brother”, could we believe it’s because he wants us to be better than even we let ourselves be? If anyone knows how to make us healthy and happy, I have to put my money on him. For he designed us. (see servitude)
And now, If you don’t believe God is trustworthy and good, here’s a different question for you: Even if God is selfish, but he is all powerful, wouldn’t it still be a better decision to obey him, and stay on his good side? But I think as you obey and see what is happening to your life you will find that the god of the universe has a love like no king on this earth has ever had. And you will learn you can trust him, only him, especially when you can not trust even yourself.
